Sometimes you just want a chocolate chip cookies. My mom has been making chocolate chip cookies at Christmas for years, and I remember my grandmother making pounds of them to put into Christmas boxes. I know that a lot of families make complicated cookies at Christmas time but my family has generally stuck with the classics.
2 cups flour
1 1/2 sticks butter
3/4 cup each brown and white sugar
1 tea baking soda
1 tea salt
1 tea vanilla
1/2 bag chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375.
Cream the sugars with the butter, then add the eggs one at a time. Mix in vanilla, then add the dry ingredients into the batter in small amounts till fully blended. When batter has come together, mix in chocolate chips.
Press into a 8×8 pan and bake for 20-25 minutes.
