Gaueko

“The Basque God of Night and all the perils of the darkness. Though he is the God of the Danger that Lurks in the Gloom, he is kind to men and warns them against the nighttime hazards and sets rules of conduct for both the living and the dead as they travel through his domain. It is said that since the warm, vibrant daylight is for the living, the abodes of night are reserved for the dead. All who heed his counsel are protected, but woe be to any man that disobeys the laws of Gaueko: he is swift to punish those that would scorn his advice. Blackened sandalwood and misty lavender, with curling wisps of smoky tobacco, nag champa, and labdanum.”

I have a fairly good sized collection of BPAL and other etailers. The noncollector calls it scarily large, but it’s actually on the small to moderate end as far as collections go. I’ve been so in love with Nephilim that I haven’t wanted to wear anything else.

I pulled out my imp of Gaueko and realized that I really need to get a bottle of this. I do best with gener neutral/masculine themed blends- I either don’t favor or can’t wear a lot of the traditionally feminine notes.

The description makes this blend sound a lot darker and heavier than what it is on my skin. It’s definitely one of the blends that I would call cooler weather though- and that takes a lot. It’s this beautiful mishmash of lavender, sugar, and incense.

I know that this isn’t one of the ‘big name’ BPALs but it’s one of the ones that I think condenses the brand image the best. This smells amazing- and you’re not really going to get it in a big box brand.
