Kay Nielsen was a Danish illustrator who often worked with fairy tale themes. His work was gorgeous. But why am I featuring him on a horror day?

Nielsen was popular at Disney for his skill with concept art. Above is concept art for the Night on Bald Mountain sequence of Fantasia-a segment that included a great deal of his work.
